Random group draw

Draw teams into groups, kept balanced in size.

One team per line. Duplicate names are dropped automatically. · 0 teams

At least 2 teams are needed.

The list is shuffled and then dealt in a snake order: one team into each group, reversing direction on every pass. Group sizes stay within one of each other, and the first group does not collect every early pick.

Frequently asked questions

How many teams per group works best?
Four is the usual choice for grassroots events: three group matches each without stretching the calendar. Groups of three finish faster, but one defeat almost eliminates a team.
Can I seed the draw?
This free version draws at random. To seed, draw each pot separately: run the tool for the seeded pot first, then for the rest.
Can I redo the draw?
Yes, draw again as often as you like. Each run is an independent shuffle.
